About Me

My twenty year journey as a psychotherapist has been extraordinary. My personal and professional experiences have given me a profound appreciation for our innate capacity not simply to survive, but to transform difficult and often traumatic life events in ways that foster understanding, a deeper sense of connection with oneself and others and, hopefully, healing. Every day I am both humbled and inspired by my clients, who remind me of the strength and resiliency of the human spirit, the importance of healthy trust and taking risks in service to finding inner peace, more meaningful attachments, and living more authentically.

I have learned that the essence of true healing occurs in a safe environment- one that invites both the client and the therapist to be present and curious together. The pairing of psychotherapy with exciting advances in neuroscience is creating approaches to treatment that harness the power of the mind and body to heal themselves. Uncovering the possibilities that lie within us all as we move through fast paced and often disconnected states can bring a greater sense of connection, joy and passion to our lives.

I collaborate with each client in ways to address their unique struggles and intentions. When it comes to therapy, one size definitely does not fit all! For some, psychotherapy can provide a safe and supportive environment in which to learn strategies that promote healthy self-‐ esteem and enable us to cope with the stressors of daily living. For gay/lesbian, transgender, or gender curious individuals the work might focus on the complex challenges of coming out and actualizing one’s true self in environments that can be alternately rejecting and accepting. For trauma survivors, the intention may be to understand the impact of traumatic experience on all levels- emotional, psychological, and somatic. Our journey together is to facilitate understanding, integration and healing/wellness. It has been both an honor and privilege to assist people in transforming their lives, as they move from mere survival to learning how to live more presently, fully and richly.
